Spindleruv Mlyn was once again the place where more than 250 Crussis dealers gathered to be presented with the biggest news for the new model year, this time Crussis 2023.
"The new premises have significantly helped us with logistics and if necessary we are able to increase theproduction capacity up to 300,000 electric bikes per year," explains Petr Výkruta.
The most important new feature for the 2023 model year of Crussis electric bikes are the Panasonic motors. According to the presentation to the dealers, this step is extremely important for the brand; Crussis has been tuning the motors for e-bikes with the Japanese manufacturer for several years. Representatives from Panasonic Cycling Technology from Munich, where the sales and service centre for Europe has been established, were even present in Spindleruv Mlyn.
"We get maximum service, I can't praise it enough," says Petr Výkruta. "We first met Panasonic online at the time of covid. We spent a lot of time together and tuned the engine to our liking and the needs of the market. Every market has certain requirements, in Holland you ride on flat ground, but in the Czech Republic there are a lot of hills, so performance and instantaneous engagement are important," says Výkruta, who is not afraid to compare the Panasonic engine with those of the world's biggest brands.
"For me, this is a completely unique engine. It is powerful, quiet, economical and offers the user an unrivalled driving experience. We have been tuning the feel-good performance for the rider for a long time and we are convinced that we have succeeded. I would say that the Panasonic GX Ultimate is one of the best engines on the market at the moment," says the director.
Panasonic produces a total of three motor ranges, and on Crussis e-bikes you'll find the two most powerful - the GX Power Plus (max 400 W, 75 Nm) and the GX Ultimate (max 600 W, 95 Nm). Both motors offer 4 levels of assistance. "The ideal Auto mode, which works with the torsion sensor, dispenses assistance according to how hard you pedal. Economical and convenient, there's basically no need to change the mode if the terrain is undulating," explains the Panasonic engine.
Panasonic's more powerful engine, the GX Ultimate, is fitted to the top-of-the-range Crussis nine. The e-bike is then 1,000 CZK more expensive than the same model in the nine-series on the Bafang M500 motor, which still remains on offer.
"We managed to tune the motor to provide maximum comfort for both sporty and quiet riding," says Petr Výkruta, praising the new cooperation with Panasonic.
"By fine-tuning the assist activation when you step on the pedal and turn it by just 1 degree, we achieved instant engagement, which is a very important aspect when starting uphill. Another important thing is to eliminate unwanted sensory jolts when switching the engine assist off and on around 25 km/h. By switching the engine off and on smoothly, a high level of ride comfort is achieved."
The designation and proven models remain, i.e. Guera, Atland, Fionna, Largo. The bikes with the new Panasonic motors are marked with the abbreviation "PAN" before the name.
The range with the "ONE" designation also remains, i.e. bikes that have a subtle monochrome design across all model ranges.
Models with Bafang and Oli engines also remain in the 2023 range. Bosch engines will only be on the 2024 model bikes.
